Just received my copy of Susan Kane’s new album “A Word Child.” The singer’s photograph which appears on the album was shot during the summer here in Chappaqua. Susan wanted a “dramatic” image and so we set up the lighting accordingly. It was lit with a normal 60-degree reflector (no umbrella) and one accent light. The image was actually shot in color and converted to B&W. The lens was an 85mm, f/1.8. Exposure was 1/125th of a second at f/11.
We made many images that day, but this one was pretty close to what she had envisioned.
